Login or Register to make a submission.

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or PDF document file format.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements in the author's home discipline. The title page has been removed and the title centered at the top of the first page of the manuscript. The author's name does not appear on the document.
  • The text is formatted for blind peer-review: 1. The author's name and any other identifying marks have been removed from the text. 2. With Microsoft Office documents, author identification should also be removed from the properties for the file (see under File in Word), by clicking on the following, beginning with File on the main menu of the Microsoft application: File > Save As > Tools (or Options with a Mac) > Security > Remove personal information from file properties on save > Save.
Graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are welcome to submit one manuscript to CONCEPT per year. The submission deadline is February 1. Submissions should observe the following guidelines:

To ensure blind, impartial review, the writer’s name should not appear on the paper itself. However, a title must appear on the first page.

Do not use footnotes. All text notations should be placed in a single list, following the main text and before the References or Works Cited list.

Embed all formulae, tables, and figures into the main text to create a single document. Use a consistent format and avoid special or irregular formatting, if possible.

An author may submit no more than one project for consideration. Contributions should be less than 25 pages, including end notes and references.

References should follow a form accepted in the discipline. An abstract to upload to the website is optional, depending on the conventions in the respective disciplines. All references, along with a bibliography or works-cited page, must be included at the time of the initial submission.
