Don James McLaughlin is a second-year Master’s student in the English program. Don James graduated with a B.A. in English from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He is currently finishing his master's thesis, which will build on arguments made in his article published in CONCEPT by comparing and contrasting Theodore Dreiser’s Sister Carrie with Willa Cather’s The Song of the Lark. Don James is grateful for the assistance of Dr. Jean Marie Lutes, for whose “News to Novels” course he originally wrote the paper. He plans to pursue a Ph.D. in English, beginning in the fall semester of 2010.
