Dera Sipe

Dera Sipe is completing her fourth year in Villanova’s Philosophy Ph.D. program. Dera was born and raised in Alaska, spent a few years in Michigan where she majored in Philosophy and Anthropology at Eastern, and finally moved to the Philadelphia area in 2002. Her philosophical passion is existential phenomenology, which informs the way she tackles a variety of philosophical problems and causes her to be cheerfully implicated with feminism and social philosophy. She currently teaches Introduction to Philosophy at Villanova and resides near the Italian Market in Philadelphia.
